Summary:Employee will be required to answer phones, take and relay messages. Sorts postal and interoffice mail for distribution. Makes public address and announcements as instructed. Pages personnel as necessary. Makes appointments for patients. Checks in patients for appointments verifying demographic and insurance information. Works closely with assigned PFC''s to ensure all patients have an accurate registration in the billing system. Collects co-payments and self pay payments as needed. Checks in patient charts for appointments and other duties as assigned. May be asked to work weekends, evenings or holidays.
AGE OF PATIENT POPULATION: Neonate, child, adolescent, adult, geriatric.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, &
Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) INFORMATION ACCESS Partner may access patient care information needed to perform their job duties. Partner may access financial data.MEDICAL CLINIC RECEPTION EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Previous reception or medical facility experience preferred. Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
COMPUTER SKILLS:Computer knowledge preferred. Appointment and demographic programs utilized.
SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
LEVEL OF SUPERVISION:Work is performed according to specific procedures and methods, but the incumbent must make minor decisions using independent judgment required in order to adapt to routine situations.
SUPERVISES:This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
