OBJECTIVE:
Under general supervision and guidance of the Ice Arena Manager, the Ice Arena Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the facility and staff.
The Supervisor performs a variety of public service and custodial duties that provide participants with a safe and enjoyable skating environment.
This position will work 4-20 hours per week pending employee availability and facility needs.
Most available hours are in the evening and weekend.

Reports to:
Ice Arena Manager.
Works with seasonal employees on a regular basis and communicates with other City employees, facility user groups, customers and the general public.
Essential Duties ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Opens, closes or works middle of the day shifts for the facility and performs shift-specific functions and inspections of the facility as outlined in Supervisor's log.
Practices proper cash handling procedures and cash register operation.
Maintains an accurate cash drawer and petty cash balance.
Answers telephone inquiries and responds to messages in a courteous and timely manner.
Practices good customer service when interacting with others.
Checks compressors and other mechanical systems as required Operates the ice resurfacer (Zamboni) to prepare the ice sheet, while monitoring ice thickness and quality.
Monitors all on and off-ice activities throughout the facility.
Places goals on ice and removes goals from ice as needed.
Checks out equipment and keys.
Monitors patron behavior.
Provides diligent and consistent rule enforcement.
Provides direction and supervises skate hosts Monitors restrooms, locker rooms, warming room, seating areas, and office for cleanliness.
Cleans, sweeps, mops, empties garbage and stocks supplies as needed.
Provides basic first aid and appropriate emergency response care.
Completes necessary and required shift paperwork and fills in daily logs as required.
Reports in writing to Arena Manager accident reports, problem reports, maintenance requests or other issues.
Attends staff trainings as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Requirements/Qualifications RECOMMENDED MINIMUM
Qualifications:

Education, Certifications and
Experience:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Current Child and Adult CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications or willing/able to obtain.
For successful performance in this position, the incumbent will need to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Ability to:
Work evenings and weekends.
Follow City/Division/Ice Arena policies, work independently and make sound decisions.
Communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with city employees, arena user groups, patrons and the general public.
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures Maintain positive behavior and a calm and professional demeanor Posses or ability to obtain a valid State of Wisconsin driver's license.
Supplemental Information EQUIPMENT AND JOB LOCATION:
Equipment used in this position includes but is not limited to:
Ice Resurfacer, Skate Sharpener, Compressor System and a Computer with POS operations.
PHYSICAL FACTORS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by any employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Must be able to operate assigned equipment.
Ability to work in colder temperatures typical of an Ice Arena, along with changing humidity levels.
Working conditions involve occasional exposure to dirt, dust, and moisture.
Perform basic activities, which may include, but not limited to lifting, stooping, semi-reaching, to full-reach overhead, crouching, kneeling, bending, twisting, and turning.
Must be able to sit or stand and move for long periods of time Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
See and observe all sections of an assigned area of responsibility, with or without reasonable accommodation.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
