We are a historic wedding and event space located in Janesville, Wisconsin and are currently searching for an outstanding Bar Manager to join our team.
Role Description Manage bar operations effectively through proper planning, ordering, staffing, and execution of services.
Ensure that all systems and processes are being followed and executed in order to provide the best bar experience possible for our customers.
This position requires the Bar Manager to work onsite at 10 South on Monday and Thursday any week that we have events.
This role will require approximately 10-20 hours per week.
The Bar Manager would ideally serve as one of our 10 South bartenders, taking occasional shifts alongside their staff, to support effective teamwork, communication and adherence to processes.
Responsibilities Staff Management Responsible for owning the role of Bar Staff Manager through training, coaching, celebrating, and developing bar staff members to perform at their highest potential in this role and provide our customers with excellent service.
Effectively manage members of the bar staff including bartenders and barbacks.
Efficiently communicate weekly updates to bar staff members.
Create and manage the bar staff schedule.
Conduct bar staff interviews and orientation/training.
Operations Management Order preparation; ordering and distributor communication (including various specialty requests and pricing), order placement.
Future event prep (review timelines, bar packages, special requests, staffing needs, etc.
for upcoming weddings) Conduct weekly inventory Receive and organize all incoming deliveries:
Ensure proper organization of storage spaces (liquor room and basement storage), organize for weekend events, and prepare for incoming deliveries.
Attend weekly BEO meeting every Thursday.
Ensure proper systems are in place to support the maintenance, cleanliness and organization of both bars.
Properly stock and prep the bar before weekend events (this includes stocking the cooler, prepping simple syrups, stocking supplies behind the bar, etc.
) Checklists:
review current checklists and edit for improvement, create new checklists to ensure events are executed properly.
