This client is looking to hire a Project Design Engineer for their Janesville, WI office.


SUMMARY STATEMENT
The Project Design Engineer is responsible for performing a variety of engineering work in designing, layout/detail drafting, evaluating product designs and manufacturing methods, and assuring product production and reliability.

QUALIFICATIONS ESSENTIAL TO QUALITY SYSTEM
Education equivalent to a four-year engineering degree and a minimum of five years of product engineering experience.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency in 3D drawing software, such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, Pro-E , 3ds Max, etc
Knowledge of mechanical/manufacturing design, including design for six sigma
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including process improvement techniques
Organized and detail oriented
Strong communication skills and interactive capabilities (manufacturing areas)
Proven leadership skills
Willing and able to make decisions when required
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with interruptions
Willing to be flexible to work on varying tasks
Ability to interact and influence others in a positive manner
Willing to work extra hours as required
Ability to climb ladders, lift 50 lbs., and work at varying heights
Ability to work with power tools and equipment
Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time
Flexible to continue skill development and cross-training

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and develop products to meet customer needs, both in new product development and product variation requests
Managing development and product improvement projects from concept through production using six sigma tools
Work with teams in all aspects of design and manufacturability
Review progress and evaluate results, make changes in processes, design or equipment where necessary
Lay-out of designs based from engineers discussions, stack-ups and tolerancing; create detail and assembly drawings
Generate BOM?s and review them for accuracy
Maintain drawing accuracy within the CAD area
Conduct engineering research
Enter orders and assist in shop drawings
Lead teams to implement process improvements
Participate in ongoing process improvements
Complete other duties as assigned



Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
