PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To provide direct supports to individuals with disabilities while receiving services on-site
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
High school diploma or equivalency
Well developed verbal and written communication skills
Access to reliable non-public transportation with required insurance coverage
Flexibility in scheduling
Ability to operate computer equipment; knowledge of various software packages including Office Windows applications 2007 and above
PREFERRED
Certified Nursing Assistant certificate
Related two or four year degree
Demonstrate a basic knowledge and understanding of issues that affect people with disabilities
Previous direct or related experience
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
A. Deliver quality personal care service. Activities include following care plan, assisting with transition to and from on-site services (removing coats, storing lunchboxes, retrieving personal items, escorting), facilitating assisted ambulation, toileting, various methods of transfer, meal set up and preparation, assisting with eating, tube feeding, and oral hygiene, spot bathing, dressing, and assistance with daily routines (i.e. using pop machine or microwave).
B. Maintain a safe, sanitary and organized environment in the program area. Activities include use of universal precautions in all activities, bodily fluid clean up, sanitize mats between use, rinse and/or launder soiled garments, wash tables and counters in cafeteria between meals, mop spills and wet areas, clean cupboards, microwave and refrigerator and monitor location of participant personal items and return to homes daily.
C. Order supplies promptly to assure items are available as needed.
D. Effective communication to serve as a liaison with other staff. Activities include informing service professional and service team leader of issues, reporting accidents and injuries, charting and maintaining communication notebooks.
E. Complete all required documentation in a timely manner. Activities include daily/weekly/or monthly updates on participant contacts and progress, time and billing sheets, and all other pertinent documentation to ensure current case file.
F. Serve as an advocate and assist individuals in understanding options and in communicating their choices. Activities include effective communication with team members and other stakeholders regarding pertinent information relating to the participant; act as an appropriate role model; and maintain professional relationships with family and county staff.
G. Maintain high performance standards. Activities include follow organizational policies and procedures; attend team meetings; maintain job knowledge through training and orientation; provide quality customer service; manage time; use resources wisely; maintain solid working relationships, confidentiality, and ethic standards.
H. Maintain current knowledge and assure compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, Riverfront policies and procedures, and state and national standards. Activities include periodic review of Riverfront policies and procedures and state and national standards; and maintain and practice all aspects of safety while performing duties.
I. Must be capable of working a flexible schedule.
PHYSICAL/SENSORY/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS
The majority of the work time will be spent in Riverfront, Inc.'s program areas assisting the participants in achieving their development plan goals and meeting personal care needs. Push/pull wheelchairs and assist with transfers in or out of wheelchairs for adults of various sizes daily. Occasionally required to sit at a desk or in meetings for an extended period of time. Ability to present information and respond to questions from participants, staff, and the general public when speaking on the phone, corresponding on the computer or in face-to-face interactions.
Lifting weights of up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 20 pounds daily. Bending and walking required regularly.
Uses hearing and vision with the ability to collaborate and orchestrate in a variety of environments. Regular use of fine motor skills for writing or typing.
Regularly will concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously along with the capacity to respond calmly and quickly to emergency situations required. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Capacity to differentiate between various levels of confidentiality and act accordingly.
Ability to obtain First Aid certification, based on program requirements, within 30 days of hire.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Majority of work is performed at Riverfront, Inc. program areas. Outdoor travel may occur occasionally.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
